FL180 - Flight level 180, or 18000 feet standard pressure altitude

TKS - Tecalemit, Kilfrost and Sheepbridge Stokes - an anti-icing system that pushes an ice-repelling fluid through tiny holes in the leading edge of the wings

OAT - Outside Air Temperature

IMC - Instrument Meteorological Conditions - Conditions which require flight using IFR (below), usually overcast, fog, or heavy rain

IFR - Instrument Flight Rules - A set of rules for flying using instruments to keep the plane upright and on course instead of visual reference outside the airplane

VFR - Visual Flight Rules - A set of rules for flying using visual reference outside the airplane to keep it upright and on course

TAS - True Airspeed - The speed of the plane relative the the air it is flying through

kts - Knots, or nautical miles per hour - Approximately 1.5 statute miles per hour (mpg)

O2sat - Oxygen saturation - A measure of how much oxygen is getting into the bloodstream
